Relaxation              

     Q: I have recently purchased your Silva UltraMind ESP home study course. I am delighted with it and have already experienced some great results.

     I would like some advice please if this is possible. When I do the Deep Relax session using the tape I experience some uncomfortable physical sensations that diminish my level of relaxation. It feels like my muscles start twitching and also I feel restless as if an energy is moving within my body that I cant control. This doesn't happen every time I do the relaxation especially not when I do the Short Relax tape. I don't feel anxious just like I cant sit still much longer. I would appreciate any advice you may be able to give me.

     Also could you tell me if you have a discussion forum for other Silva practitioners, as I would love to hear others experiences.

     A: It is not unusual for people to feel some sensations when they first begin doing the deep relaxation. You are not accustomed to relaxing that much. Some of your muscles relax a little faster than others, and you become aware of it, and there can be little reactions.

     It is very easy to take care of this: Mr. Silva used to tell me, over and over, "Use your level to correct the problem." Here is how:

     Once you are at your level, just identify the problem: "Sometimes when I am at level I feel like my muscles are twitching, and like energy is moving through my body..."

     Then tell yourself what you want: "I want to be completely relaxed and comfortable so that I can do whatever it is that I need to do while at my level."

     Then make a plan... for instance: "Any time I feel any sensations that I do not want, I will take a deep breath and as I exhale I will relax and will feel very comfortable and will have superior concentration..."

     Then work your plan... when you feel anything, take a deep breath and relax.

     And the final step is... to take it for granted that it happened. You don't want to check to see if the sensations are still there... if you look for them, you will find them! So just take it for granted that you will be very comfortable and relaxed, and act like you are and pretend that you are and go ahead and do what you intend to do at your level and you will be just file.

     There is an excellent by Juan Silva about how to practice the long relaxation exercise... it was a favorite of his. It is on the UltraMind Web Site.
